Legendary Puerto Rican Salsa group, Lebron Brothers, will perform for one night only in Bogota on June 4, bringing the grooves they have developed over 45 years in the business, reports El Tiempo.
The five brothers, who have recorded more than 500 songs over four decades, attribute their success and cohesion to divine providence.
“God made us that way. We are five and we all do different things; we are a singer, bassist, pianist, conga player, and bongo player,” said middle brother and bassist, Angel, who is the band’s leader.
The group played in Colombia in 1979, when Angel recalls first seeing “the madness of black salsa dancing” in Buenaventura.
The Lebron Brothers have just completed an album entitled “Cali is the Salsa Capital,” because, Angel proclaims, “it is the truth.”
The prolific band are set to play at Bogota’s Downtown Majestic Theater at 7 PM Friday. Tickets range from COP40,000 – 100,000.
