Latin grammy acoustic sessions to be held in Bogota

The Latin grammy acoustic sessions, a prelude to the most important music award ceremony in the region, is to be held in Bogota for the first time, reported local media on Thursday.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, Buika and Natalia Lafourcade, two Colombian musicians will be performing at the sessions.

President of the Latin Grammy, Gabriel Abaroa Jr has been visiting schools, collages and universities throughout Bogota, explaining the sacrifices musicians have to make.

“It is our duty to explain to the kids that the money and glamour that they see on stage is not everything in the music business,”

“A number of sacrifices are required to get there,” added Abaroa.

Abaroa continue and insisted that he is looking forward to seeing the reaction of the crowd in Bogota, as Latin Grammy may look to hold future events in Colombia’s capital.

“In Bogota we are in the process of learning, to see how these events are received so that in the future the city can serve as a platform to musicians looking to expose their art,” explained Abaroa.
