‘La fiesta del Callejon’ to light up Medellin botanical gardens

Medellin music festival “La Fiesta del Callejon” promises to offer a night of eclectic urban music in the city’s botanical gardens on June 16.

La Fiesta del Callejon, or “back alley party,” is an event that attempts to re-create an urban space that “fuses the underground cultures and music of the metropolitan area…with musical sounds of salsa, folklore, latin jazz, funk, electronic, and reggae.”

The last Fiesta del Callejon brought 33 artists to Medellin. About 1,500 people attended the 2008 concert.

This year attendants will be able to enjoy music from 5 unique artists: Dead Jesika, Electrolíquido, Diego Serrato, Donkristobal and la Sonora 8.

A ticket, which costs $18.75 (33,000 pesos) will give concertgoers an opportunity to appreciate the botanical garden’s beautiful scenery at night. Liquor bars and giant tv-screens will also contribute to the experience.

Tickets are currently available on the Ticket Express website. For more information, visit the event’s facebook page, or call 4119439.
