La Equidad win first leg in Liga Postobon final

La Equidad are the top candidates to win their first ever Colombian Liga Postobon crown following a 1-0 win over Junior in the first leg of the final.

The only goal of the match was scored after just 12 minutes with Renzo Sheput striking the hosts to a 1-0 lead, which would also be the final score of the first leg.

The game was played at Bogota’s El Campin stadium, as La Equidad’s Techo stadium lacks the size for a match of this profile.

La Equidad reached the final once before but never won the Colombian top league. Junior won the crown five times before but a sixth now seems a little further away than it did before this match.

The second leg will be played in the northern city of Barranquilla next Wednesday, June 2nd.
