Demobilized FARC guerrilla ‘Karina’ was sentenced to 33 years in jail
for the attack on Arboleda, Caldas in 2000 that killed twelve
policemen. One official disappeared.
Neyis Elda ‘Karina’ Mosquera led that attack, she admitted before the court.
The judge sentenced her to 50 years in prison, but that sentence was reduced by one third because of her collaboration with justice.
The former guerrilla will also pay 5 billion pesos (US$ 240 thousand) as reparation for her victims.
‘Karina’ was the commander of the FARC’s 47th front, which was active in the north east of Colombia. She surrendered to authorities in May 2008.
