July report on Colombia rebel attacks

Colombian rebel groups FARC and ELN have carried out at least 57 attacks, killing at least 13 civilians and 16 members of the security forces in July, an analysis of attacks reported in local media showed Saturday.

According to the media analysis carried out by Colombia Reports, the reported attacks took place in 36 municipalities across the country.

The areas most affected by the rebel violence were the north of the Cauca department, the Catatumbo region in the northeast of the country and the Arauca department, also in the northeast.

The analysis only counted the attacks reported in national and regional media.
