United States Secretary of State John Kerry will be coming to Colombia on Sunday, according to local media.
Colombian radio program Hoy Por Hoy claimed it had confirmed that Kerry will arrive in Bogota on Sunday in what will be his first visit to Colombia as acting Secretary of State.
Kerry’s reported trip to the Colombian capital, the first stop in a brief tour of South America that will include a stop in Brazil, is expected to last two days, during which he will meet with President Juan Manuel Santos and Chanciller Maria Angela Holguin to discuss, among other things, the peace talks in Havana with the FARC and the implementation of Colombia’s free trade agreement with the US.
This will mark the second visit by a high-level US official to Colombia this year, after Vice-President Joe Biden met with Santos in January.
