Colombia’s second city Medellin will be celebrating Israeli cinema next week, with a series of the country’s most critically acclaimed films being shown in the city’s libraries from March 11 to March 17.

The event is designed to create a better mutual understanding between Israeli and Colombian cultures.

Five different films from Israel, which have won nominations or awards at various international film festivals, will be shown at libraries around the city,

The first to be shown, Joseph Cedar’s “Footnote” – winner of six Israeli Academy Awards – will be screened in Parque Biblioteca Belen on March 11 at 7:00.
