Medellin’s International Tango Festival brings tango lovers together for the sixth consectuive year in Colombia’s second largest city from June 16-25.
The festival’s events, which will be hosted in various parks, plazas, and other public spaces throughout the city, include film showings and conferences aiming to elaborate on the music genre’s history and its connection to Medellin.
This year, Medellin’s International Tango Festival is dedicated to tango icons Carlos Gardel, who died in a plane crash in Medellin in 1935, and Astor Piazzolla.
Although several events have already taken place, the festival’s inaugural concert will be Friday, June 22, at 7pm in the city’s botanical garden.
