Increased security control for Colombians traveling to US

Colombians traveling to the U.S. will endure increased security control and restrictions on hand-luggage following the recent failed attempt to bomb a Northwest Airlines aircraft.

According to the director of areal navigation at Bogota’s El Dorado airport, security controls will be increased for all flight headed for the United States and in addition to the prohibition of liquids and gels there will also be restrictions imposed aboard aircrafts preventing the use of cell phones, lap-tops and electronic diaries.

The director in charge of civil aeronautics confirmed that the new orders had been given by the U.S. Transport Security Agency and he added that one hour before a flight lands in the U.S. passengers “will not be authorized to walk around the passageways of the aircraft,” reported news station W Radio Tuesday.
