In times of crisis, Colombia is the safe place to invest: Uribe

Colombia is the best place to invest now that there is a global economic crisis, President Álvaro Uribe said Friday at a
presentation of his country at the World Economic Forum in Davos,
Switzerland.

Uribe, flanked by Foreign Minister Jaime Bermúdez and Trade Minister Luis Guillermo Plata, headed the Davos mini-conference called ‘Colombia: the transformation of a country’.

The President took the opportunity to stress the improvements made in Colombia concerning security during his administration and tax incentives given to foreign investors.

One of the pillars of the Uribe administration’s so-called Democratic Security policy is investor confidence. Uribe hopes to minimize the impact of the global financial crisis by securing a steady inflow of foreign investment.
