IGBC index declines 0.18%; Peso strengthens

Colombian stocks posted a slight decline Thursday, while the peso strengthened against the dollar.

The benchmark IGBC index retreated 0.18% to 14576.47 points.

Pacific Rubiales Energy, a Canada-based oil company that trades in Toronto and Bogota, declined 1.91% to COP60,500. Ecopetrol SA, Colombia’s state-run oil company, gained 0.9% to COP3,935.

The Colombian peso, meanwhile, strengthened against the dollar to close at COP1,898.00 from COP1,903.00. The yield on the benchmark 2020 peso-denominated bond known as TES, stood at 8.368% Thursday, up from 8.350% a day earlier.
