Saturday’s classic between Millonarios and Atletico Nacional ended
undecided, while Medellin earned a hard-fought victory over regional
rivals Envigado.
Nacional were the first side to score at Millonarios, 18 minutes after American actress Hilary Duff provided the opening kick of the ball. Giovanni Moreno’s great shot from outside the penalty area left keeper Oscar Cordoba without a chance.
Millonarios slowly gained control though and eventually got the equaliser -albeit with a bit of luck- from Leon Muñoz in the 75th minute.
The match between Medellin and Envigado hadn’t even been underway for a minute when DIM’s Luis Arias provided the opening goal. Juan Leal equalised in the seventh minute but Jackson Martinez restored the home side’s lead in the 15th.
Martinez went on to score another in minute 33, and although Rodrigo Saraz pulled one back near the hour, DIM held on to their lead to collect three points. The hosts even added a fourth goal through Cesar Valoyes in the 88th minute.
America de Cali remain without a win after six matches, having lost Saturday’s home match with Real Cartagena 0-1. The only goal came from Nestor Salazar in the 12th minute.
