Hackers attack Colombia’s Police website

Hackers from the group Anonymous carried out an attack on the website of Colombia’s National Police on Monday, in response to the killing of a Bogota graffiti artist.

The DoS attack was announced and coordinated from the hacker collective’s Twitter account, but failed to shut down the police website.

“Operation Emergency against false positives” was initiated in the late evening so that “family members of our killed graffiti friend know that Anonymous is with you and we will not allow silence and impunity to reign,” the group said on its Twitter account.

A handful of supporters of the hackers also posted comments on the National Police’s Facebook page calling the police “murderers” and “bastards.”

Anonymous has carried out numerous attacks on websites of Colombia’s security forces, Congress, politicians and the president this year.
