A guerrilla attack in the rural area of San Jose del Guaviare, in the central Colombian department of Guaviare, left four policemen dead and three wounded, Caracol Radio reports.
The incident occurred west of San Jose while the officials were eradicating illicit crops, said Colonel Hector Montenegor, Guaviare commander.
The injured policemen have been transported to the nearest hospital in an army plane.
