Guerrilla attack kills 2 children

Two children were killed in a mortar attack on a town in the south east of Colombia, local authorities say.

According to the mayor of Argelia, a town in the troubled Cauca department, the 9-year-old boy and the 14-year-old girl were killed on Friday night after mortars hit the home of the children. Four other people were injured.

Military sources in the region told Caracol Radio that they were not able to establish which armed group is responsible for the attack, but that both the FARC and ELN are active in the region.
