GENIUS drug smuggling plot foiled

You’ve got to admire his brazenness — a 66-year-old man hopped onto a Bogota-bound bus carrying 50kg of marijuana in his luggage, newspaper La Vanguardia reported Thursday.

Four massive blocks of the drug were discovered during a standard police check in San Pedro, Santander department, hidden in boxes that had aroused “suspicion” — could it possibly have been the overpowering stench of weed?

According to the police, the culprit thought posing as a bus passenger rather than transporting large amounts of drugs in private was a cunning plan, as the highway patrol only checks buses once every other mile.

Even better, the alleged drug trafficker “does not accept” the charges of drug manufacture, possession and trafficking which have brought against him.
