Fugitives break in to Bogota jail

Two suspected burglars, escaping from police in Bogota, were captured in a prison, BBC News reported Tuesday.

The fugitives ran across rooftops and jumped over walls before landing in La Picota, a jail housing 4,000 inmates. The unintentional break-in set off the prison’s alarm and led to their capture. If sentenced, the men could serve time in La Picota.

The two men are now in the custody of the judicial authorities who will decide whether or not to press charges.
