Former member Cali Cartel gets new identity

The former drug lord, who was extradited to the U.S. days after his arrest in 2002, has only spent six of his 15 year sentence in jail. Colombian authorities had expected to receive Patiño Fómeque in 2016 to serve another 50 years in a Colombian prison, but instead he will be given a new identity in exchange for information.The former drug lord’s parents, wife, three sons and a sister will join Patiño Fómequeon in his new life.Recently extradited paramilitary leaders ‘Don Berna’ and ‘Gordolindo’ also agreed to cooperate with U.S. justice to be able to bargain a lower sentence. U.S. justice never reveals the details of plea bargains.
