Supporters of Conservative presidential candidates brawl at party HQ

Supporters of Conservatve Party presidential hopefuls Noemi Sanin and Andres Felipe Arias had a fist-fight at the party’s headquarters in Bogota on Wednesday.

The scrap was sparked by a supporter of former Colombian ambassador to the UK Sanin shouting “Long live doctor Noemi Sanin, the next president of Colombia,” and “down with the corrupt Andres Felipe Arias.”

Supporters of Arias, who were in the majority at the headquarters, responded with anger, and the man who had shouted was beaten and kicked.

Police had to intervene to separate the antagonists and escort Sanin supporters out of the building.

Supporters of both pre-candidates were in the party headquarters to deliver ballots for the upcoming primaries.
