Self-described “painter of light” Claudio Arango is using the new Apple iPad to display his paintings of naked women on the streets of Colombia’s capital Bogota, reports Vive in Arte.
Although this is probably not the first time the iPad has been used to look at nude pictures, the Florence-educated digital finger painter has taken the art to the streets of Bogota in what is being described as the first ever art exhibition on an iPad.
Strolling the metropolis’ night-time streets with an expensive new iPad around his neck, Arango has successfully avoided being mugged and seems to be grabbing the attention of many art lovers with his images of pixelated breasts and bodies.
Describing his artistic hardships, he explained that “For a while I discovered that I lacked the gift of patience that conventional artists have,” but went on to tell of his breakthrough when “one day the miracle happened to me, the light of an iPhone appeared in my hands, or rather in my fingers, and now i paint all the time.”
Arango studied advertising at the University of Bogota Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Visual Design at the State Art Institute in Florence. He is now the CEO of Brandingdang, a brand management consultancy.
