Bogota’s Festival Centro takes over the capital’s historic center January 18 to 22 with a tantalizing musical offering of international and Colombian acts.
Festival Centro, now in its third year, is one for the music lovers, with a stellar line-up of acts confirmed to play. International pickings include the brilliant We Are Scientists, Spain’s Nacho Vegas, Japanese electro-pop duo Capsule, French-Chilean lady of hip-hop Ana Tijoux, Mexican singer-songwriter Carla Morrison, and German electronic producer Atom Heart, or Señor Coconut.
The homegrown selection is equally eclectic, with Colombian artists including Las Hermanitas Calle, Herencia de Timbiqui, Los Golden Boys, Monsieur Perine, Crew Peligrosos, Cimarron, Panorama and Mr. Bleat, among a whole host of others.
The five-day event sees 38 shows taking place across three venues in Bogota’s historic colonial quarter La Candelaria; the Colombo Americano Center, the Luis Angel Arango Library, and the auditorium and outdoor stage at the Gilberto Alzate Avendano Foundation.
Shows in the first two venues will be free of charge, while those in the Foundation’s auditorium and stage will cost COP15,000 and COP$5,000 respectively.
Tickets are on sale at the Foundation, Calle 10 No.3-16, tel. 282 9491.
