The Feria de Cali has again managed to book some of the world’s top salsa performers for the internationally-famous festival held between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Among the hundreds of acts are Henry Fiol and Ismael Rivera, two representatives of the old school who made salsa music famous worldwide in the 1970s.
Cuba’s Los Van Van will represent Caribbean salsa, while the new breed is represented by La 33, a Bogota-based salsa band that has played on nearly every continent.
According to the organization of the event, some 1,200 dancers will take part in the festival’s Christmas day parade, better known as “Salsodrome.”
