FBI uses Facebook to locate youth who threatened Uribe’s son

FBI helped Colombian intelligence use Facebook to locate the person who threatened President Alvaro Uribe’s son.

Colombian intelligence agency DAS requested the assistance of the FBI in using the social networking site Facebook to locate the perpetrator of threats made recently against the son of the Colombian president.

The FBI were able to determine the IP address of the computer from which the threats were made and thus locate the person responsible, reported newspaper El Tiempo.

The investigation lead to the arrest of a youth, allegedly a college student, on Tuesday night, who will be brought before justice on Wednesday to face charges of incitement to commit crime.
