A FARC front in the southwest of Colombia has used the services of a witch to predict military actions and put a spell on the country’s highest police official, newspaper El Tiempo reported Saturday.
The newspaper based its claims on a prosecution source who said the jailed Clara Maria Fernandez is accused of collaboration with the insurgent group.
According to the report, commanders of the FARC’s 29th Front had asked the woman to put a spell on National Police director Oscar Naranjo and the police commissioner of the Cauca department and to use her claimed clairvoyance to predict and report police activity against the guerrilla faction.
“She would tell them: ‘Move because they will carry out an operation or I see dark things, movements that may harm you’,” the source told the newspaper.
In almost all cases, the alleged witch falsely warned the guerrillas about upcoming events as there are no records of activity of the armed forces at the time of her predictions, said El Tiempo.
