‘FARC kill 2 police in north Colombia’

Alleged FARC forces killed two Colombian policemen in the northern Colombian department of Antioquia on Monday, reported local media.

The two policemen were on patrol on motorbike in the town of Apartado when they were ambushed and killed by the FARC, authorities reported. A $10,000 reward is currently being offered for information leading to the capture of the guerrillas behind the attack.

Monday’s attack in the north comes two days after a massive FARC attack in southern Colombia where FARC fighters detonated a bus filled with explosives in the middle of a village, killing six and injuring at least 70. Both of these attacks were launched as government forces pursue FARC supreme commander alias “Alfonso Cano” in the mountainous Tolima district, a traditional stronghold of the FARC.
