Pinzon said the two-month, unilateral ceasefire called by the rebel group had “never materialized“ and that FARC “terrorist actions” had continued during the truce.
“No one believes them,” said the minister of defense, alluding to the organization’s involvement in drug trafficking and their practice of laying landmines.
Pinzon’s comments came after a series of alleged rebel attacks in northern Colombia.
The rebel-called truce is due to end on January 20. FARC commander “Ivan Marquez,” the chief rebel negotiator in the Cuba, has ruled out an extension of the truce unless the government also halts its offensives.
