Family of 6 killed in north Colombia landslide

A landslide killed a family of six on Monday when it buried their house following heavy rains in the north of Colombia.

The mother, father and four children were at home in the municipality of Angostura, 50 miles north of Medellin, when they became the first victims of this year’s rainy season.

The bodies were later recovered by members of the community working with the police.

Police confirmed that the house had not received an evacuation order and was not considered to be at risk.

Landslides are common during rainy season in Colombia.
