Family killed in north Colombia plane crash

A family of four died in the north of Colombia Wednesday when their airplane crashed.

According to local media, the family had taken off from Cucuta airport but crashed minutes after takeoff in the Catatumbo region.

Security forces who were sent out to locate the disappeared airplane found the Pipper Seneca II and the lifeless bodies of its passengers in the Sardinita municipality.

The bodies of victims, a couple and their two children aged 12 and seven, were evacuated from the area that is a hotbed of rebel and drug trafficking activity.
