Colombian courts on Thursday sentenced two men to over 25 years in prison for the murder of university student Ana Maria Chavez Niño, reported Colombian media.
Juan Sebastian Obando and John Anderson Sierra were found guilty of homicide and theft, each receiving a sentence of 25 years, two months and three days in prison.
The murder took place in November 2009 in the Quinta Paredes neighborhood in Bogota, after the convicted men reportedly made contact with Chavez Niño through Facebook.
According to reports, the crime took place when the victim invited Obando and Sierra into her home, after they won her trust through the social networking website.
The convicted men will serve their sentence in the Modelo prison in Bogota.
