Expoguajira opens in Rioacha

Expoguajira kicks of Wednesday in an excercise of regional strength which promises to showcase business and enterprise innovations and turn the coastal city of Rioacha into a Caribbean commercial powerhouse.

The expo runs from June 30 to July 5 and will feature a dynamic display of trends over 2,200 square meters at the Almirante Padilla Auditorium in the Guajira department capital.

“The purpose of Expoguajira 2010 is to become one of the most important business scenarios of the Caribbean Region, taking into account the positive results of its previous editions,” says Alvaro Romero, head of the Guajira Chamber of Commerce.

As well as presenting local talent and ideas, Expoguajira will include ehhibits from Cali, Cartagena, Barranquilla, Bogota, Valledupar and other Colombian cities, as well as special guests from the islands of Aruba and Curacao.

The event is being organized by the Guajira Chamber of Commerce and energy company, Chevron, which has commercial interests in the region.
