Bogota’s environment secretary this week launched a new observatory that will allow the public to monitor important environmental indicators including air quality and water resources.
The observatory’s website will also provide up-to-date information about upcoming “green” conferences, and serves to link the city’s environmental bodies, including the Botanical Garden and the Aqueduct company.
The site also provides a directory of environmental actors and maps out the use of land within the city limits.
The agency hopes to promote citizen participation and oversight of ecological issues.
