Emma Shapplin to perform in Medellin for first time

French singer Emma Shapplin will showcase her vocal talents in Medellin for the first time.

With her captivatingly eclectic cross-genre blend of rock, electro-trance, and opera, Shapplin will be performing songs from her most recent album Macadam Flower (Flower of the Asphalt) as part of her tour to promote her latest opus.

Suffice it to say you’ve never heard a sound like her before. By combining some of the most beautiful genres throughout history, Shapplin creates a beautiful style all her own.

Shapplin’s latest album’s unique fusion of modern sounds like rock and pop with neoclassical aesthetic expression is quite impressive. She said she wanted to create her new album with “a little bubble of soft, smooth and sometimes a bit dark emotions, and for me, a different approach of sensuality.”

You can find Shapplin at the Teatro Universidad de Medellin on September 14th. The show starts at 8PM.

Tickets can be purchased in the first week of August. Pre-sale tickets are $48 (COP85,000). Other tickets will be priced at $67, $86, and $110 (COP119,000; COP153,000; and COP195,000). Students and employees will receive a 25% discount while those who have graduated can get a 20% discount.
