Extradition imminent for ELN ringleader ‘Tulio’

Venezuela has begun the process has of extraditing captured Colombian Nilson Teran Ferreira, alias “Tulio” who was allegedly the second-in-command of the North Front of the ELN. Tulio is to be handed over to Colombian authorities following his capture in Venezuela last december.

A special team of the Colombian Judicial Police will escort the ringleader on a private airplane, after Hugo Chavez announced his intention to cooperate with the Colombian government over issues of security.

The action was has been described by President Juan Manuel Santos as a signal of the increasing collaboration between the two countries.

The guerrilla is expected to arrive in Colombia after midday Friday, reports WRadio.
