ELN releases proof of life of kidnapped women (video)

Colombia’s second largest guerrilla group ELN on Wednesday released a video of two women who were kidnapped in the northeast of the country last week.

In the video, journalist Elida Parra Alfonso and environmental engineer Gina Paola Uribe talk to their families and asked their employer to cooperate to secure their release.

The video was shot in a jungle on Wednesday and, apart from the hostages, shows a number of armed men and a large ELN banner.

The hostages are employees of a multinational company building an oil pipeline from the eastern Casanare department to the Caribbean coast and were kidnapped from their homes in the Arauca department.
