‘ELN’ kidnap 3 people in southern Colombia

Three people have been kidnapped in Nariño, southern Colombia, with the ELN suspected to be the culprits, RCN Radio reported Wednesday.

An engineer and a social manager of the Solarte Hermanos construction firm, who were making road improvements in the area, were kidnapped in the municipality of Ricaurte along with a local hotel employee.

ELN guerrillas are believed to be behind the kidnappings, with the supposed purpose being to raise money through ransoms, although there is no firm lead at the moment.

Security forces have asked the local community for any information that may help the investigation and are currently searching the hills around Nariño.

The kidnappers also stole a vehicle from a medical mission.
