ELN asks FARC for truce

Colombia’s second largest guerrilla group ELN asked the FARC, the
country’s biggest insurgency group, to stop hostilities between them.

ELN supreme commander Nicolas ‘Gambino’ Rodriguez Bautista wrote an open letter to his FARC counterpart, ‘Alfonso Cano’, to “stop to fratricidal war between our two forces,” the ELN website shows.

In the letter, the ELN head says he is still waiting for reply to earlier letters, urging the FARC commander for a bilateral meeting and resolve the conflict between the two insurgency groups.
