‘El Aleman’ accuses 23 politicians of paramilitary ties

Demobilized paramilitary warlord and brother of ‘Don Mario, Freddy ‘El
Aleman’ Rendon gave the Colombian Supreme Court a list of 23
politicians he claims had ties to paramilitary organization AUC.

On the list appear the names of the current vice-President of the Senate, Oscar Suarez and former chairman of the Conservative Party, Julio Manzur.

Radio Station La FM, that received a copy of the warlord’s testimony, reports there was a plan of the Elmer Cardenas Bloc of the AUC to create political projects in the departments of Chocó, Antioquia and Córdoba to build a bridge between the outlawed paramilitaries andlocal, departmental and national politics.
