Former Colombian San Francisco Giants short stop Edgar Renteria received his World Series ring at AT&T Park Thursday.
The Barranquilla native now plays short stop for the Cinicinnati Reds. A brief ceremony before the Reds vs Giants game was held in honor of Renteria, during which he exchanged handshakes with former teammates and managers and received his symbolic award for last year’s world series.
The short stop was named MVP at the last World Series, and is known for the three-run homer he hit during game five of the series.
When Renteria was asked about his famous home run, he said “it’s going to be in my life forever,” and added that “it’s never going to go away.”
