Ecuador arrests Colombian ally of ‘El Chapo’ Guzman

Colombian police said Sunday their Ecuadorean colleagues have arrested the middleman between Colombian drug lord “El Loco Barrera” and Mexican drug lord “El Chapo Guzman.”

The suspect, Heriberto Fernandez Ramirez alias “Beto,” was arrested in the Ecuadorean town city of Guayacil and immediately deported to Colombia.

“Beto” allegedly led all of Daniel “El Loco” Barrera’s drug-trafficking related activities.

The suspect is wanted to by the United States to face drug trafficking charges.

“El Loco” Barrera is considered one of Colombia’s top three drug lords. “El Chapo” is the leader of the infamous Sinaloa cartel.
