Easy win over Once Caldas takes Cali to second place

Deportivo Cali moved into second place in the Colombian Copa Mustang II
following a convincing 1-4 win at Once Caldas. Santa Fé were beaten by
local rivals La Equidad.

Man of the match in Manizales was without a doubt Herrera, who scored Cali’s first three goals. His first, in the sixth minute, was canceled out by Mena just a minute later.

But Herrera then went on to score another two and Dominguez added one to his account as well in the 85th minute.

Santa Fé failed to defend their second place as they hosted La Equidad at El Campín stadium. The only goal of the match was scored by Polo in the 77th minute, helping La Equidad to a narrow victory.

The team that reached the final of last year’s Copa Mustang II, keep hope alive for a spot among the first eight.

Independiente Medellín earned a 1-4 win at Atlético Bucaramanga on Friday and move into sixth place. Alvarez, Córdoba and Martínez scored for DIM, with Palacios netting an own goal to make it four in total. The only home goal came from Cárdenas on the hour mark.
