Cali, El Dandee pepper spray J Balvin in Bogota

J Balvin was attacked with pepper spray by fellow reggaeton artists Cali and El Dandee after a show in Bogota, Colombian media reported.

According to El Colombian the fight started after the fraternal duo from Cali allegedly cussed the music of the J-man. J Balvin told Caracol Radio that moments after he left the stage at the Festival Nuestra Tierra Baila in Bogota’s Parque Simon Bolivar, he and one of his bodyguards were sprayed with a large quantity of pepper spray.

The reggaeton teeny-bopper took most of it in the eyes. It “burned” and he was scared of the effect it would have on his vision but after medical assistance, he walked away with shock and irritation. The perky Paisa will take eight days sick leave and continue with his performance schedule.

He says he does not know which member of the duo attacked him. For this reason he will not make a judicial complaint and added that he does not want to “poke the hornets’ nest.”

Cali and El Dandee apologized to Colombia via Twitter for their “altercation” with J Balvin. “We feel bad about the altercation and one second ago we spoke to J Balvin. [We want] music to make Colombia grow and be an instrument of peace,” they tweeted.
