DAS finds explosives near Bogota police school

Agents from Colombia’s security agency DAS found six fire extinguishers packed with 18.7 kgs of explosives near a police academy in a house in southern Bogota, reports W Radio.

Plans to carry out attacks on police stations around the capital were also found with the explosives, which were hidden under a staircase, according to reports.

Authorities are now investigating whether two police officers, one of whom lives in the house, are connected to the plot.

The discovery was made in a three-storey house between the Muzu and Venezia neighborhoods, close to the General Santander Police Academy.
