Cordoba to release FARC, ELN letters in April

Former Colombian Senator Piedad Cordoba will next month release letters by the FARC and ELN, she said in Washington. According to the politician, the leftist rebel groups “are working together” to come to a political solution for Colombia’s decades-long violent conflict.

According to the controversial politician, she will release the letters on April 23 when she launches an American branch of her peace group “Colombians for Peace.”

Cordoba didn’t release much about the contents of the letters, but said that the FARC “leaves its desire to talk and move forward clear” and that she was taken by surprise by the letter she received of the ELN.

The former senator spoke at an event organized by The Washington Office on Latin America.
