Bogota soccer team Independiente Santa Fe was forced to play an away game against using fake fan jerseys after officials forgot to bring the away uniforms.

According to local media, officials from the host team Boyaca Chico refused to change jerseys at the soccer match to avoid a color clash after Independient Santa Fe notified them of the forgotten jerseys.

A Santa Fe manager William Torres was then directed to gather the team’s replicated fan jerseys from street vendors for between $10 and $30 a piece before the game. The names and the numbers of the team members were then overlaid with tape before the players took the field.

“We took out the grey training jerseys and with the medic and the team president, we stuck numbers on the back,” said Torres. “Later I left the stadium to get more jerseys.”

Santa Fe subsequently ended up beating Boyaca Chico in 2-0 victory.

“We’re happy because Chico wouldn’t help resolve the problem and tried to gain an advantage in the situation,” said Santa Fe spokesperson Pablo Garcia.

Santa Fe is currently ranked 4th of Colombian league teams, while Boyaca Chico is ranked 16th out of 18.
