Colombia’s Falcao scores decisive goal in Medellin friendly

Falcao’s Spanish side Atletico Madrid won a 2-1 friendly game Wednesday against Colombia’s Atletico Nacional in the city of Medellin.

Atletico Nacional’s striker John Pajoy scored the first goal at Medellin’s Atanasio Girardot stadium after just 40 seconds. After 66 minutes the Spanish side evened the score with a long shot to the back of the net by midfielder Kader. Falcao, hailing from Colombia’s Caribbean city of Santa Marta, made the decisive 2-1 goal at the 84 minute mark.

Atletico Madrid, currently on a tour around Latin America, will travel to Costa Rica on Thursday to play a friendly there. Falcao was voted the fifth best footballer in Europe in 2011.
