Colombia’s economy to grow 4.7% in 2012: IMF

Colombia’s economy was projected to grow by 4.7% in 2012 in a new IMF report, published Tuesday

The International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook stated that Colombia will grow 4.7% in 2012 and 4.4% in 2013. This is 0.9 percent points above the South American average of 3.8% for 2012 and 0.1 percentage above the South American average for 2013 of 4.3%.

The IMF also forecast a 3.5% rise in consumer prices in Colombia in 2012, while the unemployment rate was projected to be 11%.
