Colombia’s Carlos Vives recieves award for ‘Deep Heart’ album

Colombia’s Carlos Vives has been presented with the Double Diamond disc award for his album ‘Deep Heart’  after selling 200,000 copies just four months after its release.

Sony Music Colombia announced the award on Tuesday via social networking sites Twitter and Instagram, including pictures of the 51-year-old Vives receiving his award.

 

In Bogota, Grammy award-winning Vives told Colombian and international media “many thanks to all the team at Sony – they have been very enthusiastic about my return and have worked so hard and have been incredibly supportive.”

Fans also took twitter to congratulate the musician on his succes:

The release of  “Como le Gusta a tu Cuerpo” (“As Your Body Likes It”), the second single from “Deep Heart”, propelled Vives through the charts earlier this year, reaching the no. 5 spot on Billboard Latin Airplay charts and sky-rocketing to no. 1 in his native Colombia.

Sony Colombia also took the opportunity to thank Vives for creating what it described as a “beautiful album.”
