Colombia’s candidate for Project Runway

A Colombian designer is taking part in the first season of Project Runway Latin America, premiering Wednesday on Latin American cable network Fashion TV.

Taking part in the reality TV show, staged in Argentina, has been a long-time dream of Medellin-born Paula Valencia, she told newspaper El Colombiano.

Valencia added that she has been following the American version with Heidi Klum as host. The Colombian designer is proud to represent her country with her unique style, to show that “Colombia has a lot of talent.”

Despite the death of Valencia’s mother at the beginning of the show, she has mastered the weekly challenges well and says she is proud of what she has achieved.
