Colombian unemployment down to 12%

In the second month of 2008 the number of people with a job reached 18,5 million, which is over half a million more than a year ago. Colombia now counts 2,5 million unemployed workers.The unemployment rate is a little higher than the last semester of 2007 when unemployment was 11,7%Cities with the highest rate of unemployment are Ibagué (19.1 percent), Monteria (14.4 percent) and Pereira (14.2 percent). The cities with the lowest unemployment rate are Bucaramanga (10 percent), Cúcuta (10.3 percent) and Barranquilla (11 percent).
